In short, all-year round! Many couples prefer getting married during the summer time (and I get it — holidays, warmer weather and the like), however, it’s also one of the most busy times of the year and, thus, waiting times can be longer than expected. From a photographer's perspective, November - March weddings can be equally magical — you will not only experience less crowds, but also could take advantage of lower accommodation prices and annual festivals such as the Copenhagen Light Festival.

3. When Can You Get Married In Copenhagen?

You can get married at Copenhagen City Hal at the following times. These times may vary slightly depending on the season and don't apply for special request bookings.

  • Monday, 11AM -12.30PM

  • Wednesday, 11AM -12.30PM & 1PM - 2.30PM

  • Thursday, 11AM -12.30PM & 1PM - 2.30PM

  • Friday, 11AM -12.30PM & 1PM - 2.30PM

4. What Documents Do You Need To Get Married In Copenhagen City Hall?

To get married inside the Copenhagen City Hall, you will need a marriage certificate which you can obtain through Familieretshusett , the price is 1650 DKK (€220).

5. In what language is the ceremony?

The ceremony can be held in Danish, English or German. You can choose the language for the wedding when you make an appointment in the booking system. There is a legal requirement that you and your partner understand the language, therefore, if if one of you does not understand Danish, English or German, you will have to hire an interpreter.

6. Do You Need to Bring A Witness?

Copenhagen City Hall provides 2 official witnesses. If you wish, you can appoint two of your guests to become witnesses.
